Equestrian

Horsemanship is an option that may be substituted for the traditional PE Class.  Beginning through advanced levels of both English and Western riding are taught.  In addition to arena riding lessons, students improve their skills through a variety of games and trail rides.

Classroom instruction includes lessons on horse care, tack care, nutrition, health, careers, and a variety of related subjects.

The focus of the program is to build confidence and self esteem, develop relationship and team building skills, and discover talents while making riding a safe, fun and rewarding activity that students can continue to enjoy throughout their lives.

Advanced Horsemanship students may participate on the after school Equestrian Team.  Colorguard carries the flags for the home football games, parades, and competes as a drill team.  The IEA Team competes in hunt seat horse shows.
