| May 2011--Ian Norris ’04 helped saved two lives in May 2011. He’s a pilot for Great Lakes Airlines, and on one of his flights he heard an air traffic controller asking for help with another pilot who was becoming incoherent while experiencing a lack of oxygen. Ian was familiar with the controls on that pilot’s plane, so he instructed the pilot’s frightened wife on how to turn the plane away from the mountains and to descend to a lower altitude. At the request of the air traffic controller, Ian followed the plane and provided information on its course until it safely landed.
