To our MVCS stakeholders,
Thriving Christian schools like Monte Vista Christian School promote vision and planning for their future impact and to effectively serve the students and families. We are thankful for God's provision of increase in our enrollment over these past several years. The Board of Directors and leadership team of MVCS wants to do our very best to prepare our school for continued increase in effectiveness and impact in the years ahead.
We want to communicate to you, our valued stakeholders, about our current work on creating a strategic plan for your school's next three years. A strategic planning process is different than an accreditation review, which we are also working on for completion in the spring of 2015. An accreditation review is very much staff intensive work, with committee assignments on various aspects of the accreditation review and preparation. The strategic planning process includes representation and significant input from a variety of stakeholder groups.
MVCS is partnering with Paideia, Inc., a leading Christian school consulting firm, in the development of the strategic plan. The planning process has included input via surveys and focus group meetings to gain significant input and clarity from a variety of stakeholder groups. This has and continues to include input from representatives from: students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni, board members
In compiling and studying the input for MVCS's future, a planning task force assembled by your administration is currently using all of the information gained to create a new strategic plan to advance MVCS in the future. This work includes analysis of mission, vision, core values, and key results areas to guide your school's continued development as a premier Christian college preparatory school.
The strategic plan is being aligned with the standards for accreditation, but also will provide a plan for the school's future, far beyond the accreditation review.
Our goal is to provide a completed copy of the strategic plan to the Monte Vista Christian School board of education in early 2015, and upon receiving the board's approval, will begin to implement some aspects of the plan for the 2015-16 school year, with continued implementation and evaluation through the 2017-18 school year.
We thank everyone that has participated in surveys, our State of the Union Summit, focus group conversations, and our planning task force sessions. Collectively, we have gained valuable insight and we believe the strategic plan priorities will be aligned with the information and opinions provided by the various stakeholders.
