Don Price Performing Arts Chapel

CONSTRUCTION OF THE DON PRICE
PERFORMING ARTS CHAPEL

The entire MVC community is grateful for God’s provision of a shining new jewel on our campus—the Don Price Performing Arts Chapel. The 450-seat, $10 million facility opened in 2020. It was named for Don Price, who led MVC for 38 years and longed to see a chapel/performing arts center on campus. The beautiful new facility includes two large classrooms, a fully equipped stage, and state-of-the-art sound and lighting. The space will host performing arts events, host chapel services, school gatherings, and community events.

DON PRICE'S VISION
Throughout his 38 years as headmaster at MVC, Don Price consistently cast a vision for what a chapel and performing arts facility could mean for Monte Vista and its students. Don understood the key role the arts can and should play in a well-rounded Christian education, and was faithful in keeping this need before the MVC community. It is, therefore, both a joy and a privilege for Monte Vista Christian's current leadership to honor Don's leadership and vision by naming this new facility in his honor.

FINE ARTS
MVC is committed to achieving excellence in fine arts instruction, both in visual and performing arts. Nearly 60% of our student body participate in these opportunities. In the words of one MVC parent, “My four children are all different, but one thing I love about MVC is that there is an artistic opportunity for everyone. My son learned he loved ceramics. My daughter has developed her singing voice, and she also turned into a budding photographer. Our whole family enjoys the plays and concerts, and the quality of last year’s art show was simply stunning.”
