Your right to privacy and security when dealing with us is one of our primary concerns. Security is one of our highest priorities, and we have devoted a great deal of effort to ensure that our security measures safeguard your information. Additionally, we take the privacy of the information you provide us very seriously.
Please take a moment to read about the steps that we have taken to help protect your information and make your online transmissions safer. We also invite you to review the steps you can take to help protect yourself further.
If you are using a security-enabled browser (virtually all modern browsers fall into this category), the information you view on our systems (i.e. grades, class schedules, address information) is encrypted, making it extremely difficult to read if it is wrongly intercepted.
MVCS systems utilize industry-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to allow for the encryption of both potentially sensitive information (such as your name and address), and critically sensitive information (such as your credit card number).
An unbroken key or closed padlock icon will appear in the status bar at the bottom of most browsers to indicate that SSL security is in operation. Clicking on the icon will display the digital certificate associated with the secure connection. This certificate is intended to guarantee the identity of the remote computer to which you are sending your details.
Please be aware that other websites, including sites that may be accessed through our site, e.g., via a hyperlink, may have different security policies in place. This Security Policy does not cover the security practices of those third-party web sites.
